Living Your Life As a Work of Art by Misha Lyuve

Sep 26, 2011
This will start a series that explores living a life as a work of art, one of the fundamental inquiries of ART BEAUTY LIFE blog. Your thoughts and experiences in relation to this inquiry would definitely enrich my journey and probably yours – please share them by commenting to the post.

A work of art is something admired and looked for; it is special and unique; it requires a skill and inspiration; it exists inside of creation and appreciation. What if we were to apply this high standard to living our lives?

When people think of their dream lives, they imagine a set of perfect circumstances, things that they want to have and how great they will then feel about all of it. This is no life, it is just a fantasy. Real life, on the other hand, guarantees a mix of auspicious and unfavorable circumstances, good luck and events not going according to a plan, as well as won and lost opportunities.

So instead of chasing a “dream life” of the future, why not live the life that is a work of art now?

And whether you are (and I am) taking out garbage or putting kids to sleep, driving to work or star gazing, writing an email to the boss or making love, doing laundry or sky-diving, meditating or grieving a loss, chewing food or walking the dog, arguing on a political topic or picking hair out of the bathtub, opening a door or waiting in line – how to live your life as a work of art – both as a challenge and an opportunity, is right in front of us.

What would make your life a work of art? What qualities does this life have? What kind of a person you gotta be to to live the life that’s a work of art?

My life would be a work of art if I was running my own company inspiring and empowering people around the globe. For someone like me who always believed the word art didnt even apply to my life, I know now that a A work of art comes from within, gets your inner fire burning to move through life with a passion that cannot be stopped. This kind of life (or work of art) has fun, play, ease, drive, commitment to make a difference, sharing and pure clean love. Now who I got to be to live like a work of art – Passionate, Powerful, Playful, Fabulous and Fierce!!! Anyone want to join in on this work of art life?

Believe that what we are doing for everyone is our best. we give our own work our best efforts, therefore we should consider doing the very same for our brothers & sisters in this world. Wish all the people we meet the very best, feel happy for them when they are happy, Do your best to uplift them with your faith when they are ‘down’. This is the only way to a really happy & forfilling life on earth. Just ‘go for it’, and ‘Believe’.

I would consider living my life as a work of art when I am operating in integrity – meaning, doing what I said I would do AND keeping an empowering context in life. I would also consider living my life as a work of art when I feel a steady calming flow of energy coming to me from the Universe that I can redistribute to people around me.

When I let go of my preconceived expectations, giving myself permission to be more than my self imposed limitations, vision expands and I remember my decisions create a living work of art.

Is life only art when we say that all things are in alignment and then can and is in a space of beauty? Some art is ugly. Perhaps our own interpretations of life color the pictures that we create for ourselves.
my life as art is a process of discovery and being-ness. Dis-cover may be “re-cover” or remembering the flow of life as it is meant to be (in the moment) which in my estimation seems to be the “real” moments of life. The being-ness of life comes from being in the moment and experiencing the flow. I feel art and beauty everyday in my life because of the wonderful experiences that I share in the tiniest of moments with others. The way the sun warms my face in the morning and I am instantly joyful and filled with peace–this is beauty and art in my life.

Being in the moment. Like having diarrhoea and recognising that achievement means getting well!
